    FAQ

    Common questions

    Who is longevity medicine for?

Adults of any age who want a proactive, evidence-based approach to long-term health: whether you're focused on prevention, optimising how you feel now, or addressing early markers of decline.

Will I work with one practitioner or both?

It depends on your needs. Some patients work primarily with Dr Dan, others with Maryke, and many benefit from a collaborative plan that combines both medical and dietetic support. We'll guide you to the right starting point.

Do I need testing before my first consult?

No. Just bring any recent results you have. If you start with Dr Dan, he'll request a baseline longevity blood panel after your first consultation, and your plan is built on those results. Further tests are only added where clinically indicated.

    What does longevity medicine cost?

With Dr Dan, your initial consultation and first follow-up are 60 minutes each, at R3,200 each. Together they include a written medical report and an InBody body composition scan. The baseline longevity blood panel is paid separately and costs about R3,500 on average, depending on what's clinically indicated. A VO2max test (R1,200) and a functional assessment (R900) are optional add-ons. Later follow-ups are 30 minutes, at R1,275.

    Where are you based?

Expand Health is located in De Waterkant, Cape Town. In-person consultations are recommended, with online follow-ups available where suitable.

How often will I see my practitioner?

Most patients begin with an initial consult, followed by a review within 4–8 weeks, then quarterly check-ins as the plan evolves.
